Mia is a doctor of physical therapy whose clinical practice is deeply rooted in a lifetime of movement and artistic expression. A dancer since the age of three and a dance instructor for over seven years, Mia pairs an athlete's intuition with advanced clinical training. She earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Tufts University and a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from The University of Massachusetts Amherst, establishing a rigorous foundation in human mechanics. As a Herman & Wallace Level 1 Pelvic Health Clinician and a Certified Autism Exercise Specialist, Mia offers a specialized, inclusive approach to rehabilitation that considers the unique needs of every patient.
Mia’s professional focus is driven by a profound personal mission: her passion for treating pelvic pain stems from her own lived experience. This personal journey allows her to provide a rare level of empathy and advocacy for those navigating pelvic floor dysfunction. By combining her background in dance medicine with evidence-based pelvic health interventions, Mia provides a holistic, compassionate environment where patients feel truly heard. She is dedicated to helping individuals move beyond pain and return to the activities they love with confidence and ease.
At East Coast Physical Therapy, we take a hybrid approach that focuses on you as a whole person—not just a diagnosis code. Our cash-based model allows us to deliver care without insurance limitations, so your treatment is fully customized. Whether you're running trails, performing on stage, or simply wanting to stay active with your grandkids, we design each session around your goals.
We provide truly individualized care designed around you. At East Coast PT, your goals drive every decision we make. This isn’t a crowded clinic experience—you receive focused, one-on-one care from experts in high-level movement.
No, We are an out-of-network provider for all health insurance plans. This allows us to focus entirely on your recovery rather than navigating insurance paperwork. However, many patients are able to use their out-of-network benefits to receive reimbursement directly from their insurance company.
In this model, the therapist enters into a contract with the patient directly. You pay at the time of service, which eliminates "blind bills" and confusing insurance statements. You know exactly what your care costs upfront. This transparency allows us to focus 100% of our energy on your treatment rather than billing codes.
The Evidence says NO!. Traditional insurance-based clinics often require 2–3 visits per week for several months because of the limited 1-on-1 time. Because we spend a full 60 minutes of 1-on-1 time with you every single visit, our patients typically meet their goals in significantly fewer sessions. When you factor in co-pays and the value of your time, East Coast PT is often the more cost-effective choice.
We make the process seamless. For every session, we will provide you with an insurance style bill (an itemized receipt with all necessary clinical codes) sent directly to your inbox. You can upload this to your insurance provider’s member portal for direct reimbursement based on your out-of-network rates.
Cash-based physical therapy often ends up being more cost-effective than going through insurance. At East Coast Physical Therapy, every session is a full 60 minutes of one-on-one care with your Doctor of Physical Therapy. Your treatment may include hands-on techniques such as manual therapy, cupping, e-stim, and individualized strength and movement training—all tailored specifically to you.
In many traditional clinics, therapists are responsible for treating 3–5 patients per hour, which significantly limits the amount of personalized attention you receive. Much of your session may be spent performing generic exercises under the supervision of an aide, with minimal individualization. These clinics often require 2–3 visits per week for several weeks, yet still fall short in delivering lasting results.
At East Coast PT, we prioritize quality over volume. With dedicated one-on-one care and a performance-driven approach, most patients require fewer total visits to reach their goals. Our focus isn’t just getting you out of pain—it’s helping you move better, build resilience, and stay active long-term.
Experience what physical therapy should be: individualized, hands-on, and centered entirely around you.
Forget the "cookie-cutter" exercises and heat packs. At East Coast PT, every 60-minute session is spent 1-on-1 with a Doctor of Physical Therapy. We utilize a combination of manual techniques, functional exercise, and specialized education. We do not use aides or assistants; your care is managed entirely by one of our Doctors of physical therapy.
Our approach is defined by depth of expertise and truly individualized care. Dr. Ethan Rosen blends a background in strength and conditioning with experience treating athletes, older adults, and those navigating chronic pain—creating a foundation for long-term resilience and performance. Dr. Mia Lemieux offers specialized expertise in dancers and pelvic health, including postpartum care, sexual dysfunction, and hypermobility, with a nuanced understanding of complex movement systems.
Together, we deliver a level of care that extends beyond symptom relief—focusing on how you move, perform, and sustain your health for the long term.
